Hi everyone - just wanted to provide an update on our change in mailer bags. Starting in June we will be using Hero Packaging. Here's a little snippet from their website:
"It looks and feels a hellavalot like plastic, but it's not. Not even close. It is a 100% home compostable shipping mailer and is made from 70-80% PBAT (a co-polymer that is completely compostable) and 20-30% PLA (which is a fancy way of saying cornstarch).
In a commercial compostable environment, it will break-down within 90 days. At home, it may take up to 120 days if composted properly."
We want to do everything we can to utilise less plastic in our business. We already use brown paper bags in our local deliveries.
All orders will still be shipped using Australia Post and timeframes will remain the same as listed on the shipping page. No changes to shipping cost has been made and express is still available / still provided for free on orders over $100.
We am really excited to make this change and hope to even make the switch into Elaine Avenue specific Hero Packaging in the future.
Thanks again for everyone who's supported our business to date. x
